Hi, I’m Julian Reed – and yes, I did indulge my ego by naming this site after myself. If that hasn’t put you off, here’s a bit more about me:

  • I’m British, but I’ve spent significant time living and working in Asia and North America. These experiences have made me a bit of a cultural hybrid – and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
  • By day, I focus on bringing the right software solutions to life. But what really interests me are the human problems that software is supposed to solve.
  • According to the Myers-Briggs test, I’m an INTJ (more about that here). That’s supposed to mean I’m analytical, logical, and creative – so far, so good. Unfortunately, it also suggests I may come across as “socially clueless” (accurate, to be fair) and occasionally “arrogant” (please tell me if I ever am – I’d rather know).
  • Genetically, I’m 93.3% British and Irish, 6.6% Scandinavian, and 0.1% unassigned. I have no idea what that last bit means. If it turns out I’m 0.1% Martian, my wife probably wouldn’t be surprised.
  • I hold strong opinions – but most of them are loosely held. I enjoy exploring perspectives that challenge my own, and while being wrong still stings a bit, I’m okay with it.
  • My favourite things? Travelling, fitness, sport, and creative pursuits.
  • My current travel obsession is Japan – a place I love, even if my attempts to learn the language have so far produced predictably chaotic results.
  • Writing is something I’m determined to spend more time on – hence this blog.

Thanks for stopping by.
